GHS has recently opened her Gallery Manolin in Seoul, Bang Bae Dong, Suh Rae Village (Mah Eul) and is currently exhibiting her art works and she herself is greeting/communicating with the public at this time.

GHS’s agency reported on the 13th that, “In order to truly communicate with even more people, GHS has opened Gallery Manolin and is showing her own art work at this time.”

.In addition, GHS wants to provide the opportunity for the economically disadvantaged, new and unknown artists to showcase their work through Gallery Manolin either free of charge or with a minimum fee.

So the Cafe got its name from Hemingway’s. That’s very much like GHS I’ll just give a brief background to the short novel since i read it some years ago hehe…
I think HS chose him coz Manolin signifies the commitment and devotion to a teaching or to a work (represented by the fisherman Santiago). In the story, Santiago is an old fisherman who could not get any luck in sailing the seas. He got one luck with a big tuna but it ended up being eaten by the sharks. His defeat never deterred him and he continued doing what he does best — to fish.

Manolin is Santiago’s little boy apprentice who learned from him, believed in him and never lost faith in his abilities. In the end, even if Santiago was defeated by the sharks and never got the big fish he wanted, he was comforted with the knowledge that Manolin is there, and he will continue what Santiago started/did. Santiago knows he will live through Manolin, his teachings and his work will carry on through the little boy who never lost faith in him and who always believed in his abilities.

GHS choosing Manolin holds a deep meaning in how she values art. Maybe she is seeing herself as a Manolin who will continue the legacy of ART itself. She is a disciple of the ART and upholding it through her Cafe is her mission as Manolin. Great work HS!! I salute your dedication to your craft.

they’re the cutest pair ever! Mega superstar Rain and uprising star Goo Hye Sun are the new models for bakery band Tous Les Jours and the CF is just so adorable. But the funniest news about this CF is that Rain wasn’t the brand’s number 1 choice. Jo In Sung was, but since he went off to the military, they asked Rain to take his place. Owned. Honestly, I’m more interested in the baked goods because Rain is in the CF. If Jo In Sung was in it, I definitely wouldn’t take a second look.

SS501 Members

2nd Japanese Album
They released their official 2nd Japanese album on 13 May 2009 titled "All My Love". They held a 'SS501 ALL MY LOVE Sale Commemoration Hand Shake Session' on 17 May at TFT Hall in Tokyo where 7,000 fans attended.

1st Asia Tour PERSONA
The original group, with all five members, is scheduled for a comeback in August 2009. They will have their first Asia Tour starting from Aug 09, which includes countries like Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hongkong etc. They kick off their Asia Tour in Seoul on 01 Aug & 02 Aug, held in Olympic Park's Gymnastics Stadium. Their 2nd stop is Tokyo-Japan on 13 Aug (2 sessions, 1pm & 7pm), held in Budokan, selling out 30,000 tickets for the 2 sessions.
Simultaneously to create awareness for their Asia Tour, SS501 held fan meetings in various countries, such as 28 Jun in Taiwan, 01 Jul in Hong Kong and 29 Aug in Beijing.

Boys Over Flowers - Third Time's the Charm?

there is one Asian television drama that has stood the test of time in terms of popularity and relevance, it's Boys Over Flowers. Of course, a fan of the series would know that the Korean version of the Japanese manga or comic is already the second remake of original Taiwanese television of the drama entitled Meteor Garden.
The first remake was made by Japan. And it has the same title as the original manga version-Hana Yori Dango. What's interesting about all three versions of this television series is how the culture of each country that remakes the drama infuses their own culture into it. So even though the central narrative is still unchanged, a unique flavor sweetens each version of the series nonetheless.
In summary, the Korean version revolves a girl who belongs to an average income family. A series of events leads to her being granted a scholarship to this prestigious school where children belonging to the richest and most powerful families study. And among these students, the most powerful of all belong to the group F4.
As suggested by the group's name, F4 has four members-all of them male. And they make life a living hell for the new girl. Indeed, the rich versus poor theme has always been a staple for television dramas especially Korean ones. Then as expected, the leader of F4 and the girl find themselves falling in love with each other.
And so begins the fight for love amidst pressure from the guy's parents and competition from others who want to keep them apart. But just because the Koreans have made the third remake of the series doesn't mean theirs is the best. While a lot of fans may disagree with me, I believe that the Japanese version of the drama is best.
It's just more natural when a country transforms one's own written work into television form. If you are in search of an Asian television drama that will love watching from start to end, then you should get a copy of Boys Over Flowers, Hana Yori Dango, or Meteor Garden.

On October 2, 2008, an official announcement confirmed Kim Hyun Joong as part of the cast for the Korean version of Hana Yori Dango, also known as Boys Over Flowers, which is scheduled to be broadcast via KBS 2TV in the first half of 2009 with a total of 25 episodes. According to an official from Group Eight, the production house in charge of the drama, Kim Hyun Joong was selected to play Hanazawa Rui, or Yoon Ji Hoo (Korean ver.). On Sept. 30, 2009, Kim Bum star in Boys Over Flowers had arrived in Manila for filming RC Cola TV Ad. The CF filming reportedly to be for RC Cola (Royal Crown Cola), where Kim Bum will work with one of the country’s prime young actress, Maja Salvador (current model for RC Cola).
Maja Salvador is the current endorser of RC Cola and she is being paired with Kim Bum (more popularly known as “Yi Jeong” in the hit asianovela Boys Over Flowers) in the tv commercial of the popular softdrink brand.
Everyone will surely delight in the said tv ad dubbed as a “commercial novela.” According to the production team, the chemistry between Maja and Kim Bum was “sizzling” on the set. The commercial promises to be very different from usual softdrinks ads and will definitely make viewers sigh and swoon. According to Maja herself, “kilig na kilig ako!”

At the a press conference for their soft drink endorsement last October 3, Boys Over Flowers star Kim Bum admitted that he was mesmerized by Maja Salvador’s personality as much as he was by her beauty.He had earlier told his fellow endorser that she looked like Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones. “Yes that’s what I said,” said Kim Bum through his translator. “I told her, ‘You look like Catherine Zeta-Jones,’ from the beginning.” But the Korean star was also impressed with Maja’s dedication to her work and her cheerful disposition during the shoot for their TV commercial. “It was really a hectic, [it was a] tight schedule and her call time was 5 am and she was staying there [on the set] like 24 hours and she never frowned. She was smiling and all happy and energized. I was more impressed of what she is inside.”When he was asked to compare the actress to a flower, Kim replied, “Way too beautiful just to explain and describe her as a flower. She is beyond the beauty of a flower.”In the meantime, Kim Bum called on his Filipino fans to watch out for his next series which will air on ABS-CBN soon, entitled Dream. SS501 ost Boys Over Flowers

SS501 (pronounced as Double-S 501 or Deo Beul E Seu Oh Gong Il) is a South Korean boyband under management of Daesung Entertainment, also known as DSP Entertainment. The name of the band is a combination of the alphabet and numbers that have special meanings in them. The first “S” stands for “Super”. The second “S” is an abbreviation for "Star". The number 5,0 and 1 means `five members united as one forever.’ Their official fan club is known as "Triple S". There are only three official Triple S currently, but more are surfacing from other countries and waiting for DSP to recognize them.

Beginning Monday, May 11, Filipinos will meet the new heartthrobs that will surely make primetime viewing sizzle.
Televiewers will fall in love all over again as the Kapamilya network premieres “Boys Over Flowers,” the highest rating show and one of the grandest Korean TV productions ever made, with location shoots in New Caledonia and Macau.

Boys over Flowers is a Korean adaptation of the Japanese Manga series “Hana yori dango.” It is a story about four elite gentlemen who were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Goo Jun Pyo, their leader, falls for Guem Jan di, a feisty commoner. It progresses with the characters facing challenges and helping each other improve.
As the story continuously unfolds in the big time Korenovela drama, more and more Filipino viewers are drawn to this Koreanovela mania. Apart from the charm and fondness brought by the lead characters, what makes BOF a huge hit is the story itself, which captures the typical dreams and fantasies of a Filipino audience.
Avid viewers of this big hit consider Korean and Philippine culture to be similar. They could easily relate to these types of shows where different situations are portrayed in a light and comical manner. The scenes remind them of their individual pleasures—on family, friendship, and love. As a fan exclaims, “It makes me fall in love over and over again.”
As to why it clicked in Philippine television, Boys Over Flower encompasses the taste of Pinoys when it comes to the different facets of drama. As my teacher explained, the viewers are often drawn to the rags-to-riches story, which mirrors our desire to be the next Cinderella.
Another thing that endears the audience to the characters is the torn-between-two lovers scenes or the love triangle angle in the story. We love the feeling of being loved and appreciated. “It makes us feel important and attractive,” my teacher said.
Viewers can relate to the characters, which make them emotionally attached to the story. While some of us continue to be engrossed with a certain character, we tend to fantasize and secretly hope that what happens to our favorite character in the story would also happen to us in real life. All that drama is structured in a way that we rise and fall with it.“But what happens there will most likely not happen in real life,” the teacher added, bursting our bubble, so to speak.
Whatever it is that makes viewers go loco over Goo Jun Pyo and Boys Over Flowers, remember that a drama has an equal chance of having a positive or negative effect on the viewers. As the teacher advised, it will have a negative effect if we let it drown ourselves in false hopes, and a positive effect if we would rather consider the story as an inspiration to do well in our lives. As viewers, we must be critical of the shows that we choose to follow.
We must know how to draw the line between fantasy and reality, and know when to dream and when to start making those dreams a reality.
